Five people died between Tuesday and Wednesday in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State following financial disagreement and a robbery case, Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) has confirmed.
The task force Media and Information Officer, Captain Adam Umar told ViewPointNigeria on phone that one person was killed in Bokkos following a disagreement with another person on Tuesday while four others were killed in a robbery case on Wednesday.
Umar said, “The person who was killed was said to have owed money and when he defaulted in payment, the other person got the assistance of some friends to confront him and in the process, they killed him. The police arrested one of the suspects but the villagers insisted that he should be released to them for lynching, which warranted our men to step in.”
He said though information on the robbery attack of Wednesday was still sketchy, he could confirm that four people had been killed.
The Plateau State Police Command on their part said two people had been killed on Wednesday in Mungunu area of Bokkos but he could not say if the victims were among the four robbery victims. Police spokesman ASP Tyopev Terna said investigation had commenced.
