Speaker of Plateau State House of Assembly, Mr. Peter Azi, has called on the Federal Government to consider the signing of the Peace Corps Bill into law as soon as possible.

He also canvassed that budgetary provision be made for the Corps in 2018. Azi, who spoke yesterday in Jos, when officers and men of the Peace Corps of Nigeria, Plateau State Command, visited the state House of Assembly in appreciation of the National Assembly’s adoption of the Nigeria Peace Corps Bill, noted that the state Assembly will give the Corps the needed support that would enable it complement other relevant agencies in maintaining peace in the state.

Similarly, the Chairman, House Committee on Security and Labour, Mr. Daniel Dem, who urged the officers and men of the Corps to be law abiding, said the House of Assembly will continue to support the Peace Corps.

Earlier, the State Commandant of the Corps, Joseph Sunday, said they were in the state Assembly to thank the members for their support during the public hearing.
