Following the genocidal attack on defenseless women and children in Shonong village on Saturday 6th January 2014, ViewPointNigeria has continued to profile the incident by bringing to people’s attention, the plight of the survivors whose humanity was taken away by cowardly herdsmen.

ViewPointNigeria’s reporter Satmak Dapar visited Shonong village on 1st February 2014 for a first hand assessment of the damage to both in terms of lives and property. He reports that the village is in complete ruins. Numerous shattered families, orphaned children, broken dreams, traumatised casualties etc. As such we at ViewPointNigeria are running a media campaign tagged “#Shonong in Ruins”, which shall see us creating awareness about the relentless attacks on innocent Plateau citizens. We shall continue to bring this to fray to stimulate real discussion and spur Government into action.

The campaign shall also solicit donations from concerned citizens who are moved to assist the survivors. Already, several individuals have already donated towards this cause and we are continuing to solicit further assistance to support our people. The donations are currently being received in cash and kind so please how ever small, if you are moved do donate.
