The kind gesture of Nigeria’s minister of youth and sports Barr. Solomon Dalung by contributing in no small measure towards the medical bills of a young Plateau son Kim Isaac who was diagnosed with a condition termed as “spinal cord compression paraplegia secondary to spinal tumor has continued to receive commendations throughout the state. In a a message of appreciation, the Leader of the team Mr. Awal Gowal wrote on his facebook page thus, ”When Barr Solomon Dalung called his friend to support the “Team Kim” movement as he attended one of our awareness and fundraising events, a lot of people were skeptical if he’s not one of those politicians who is looking for a platform to sell his ambitions. His friend promised to pay half of Kim Isaac’s medical bills. There was no follow up but I got called that his friend has redeemed his pledge and we could come and get the monies.
We did not only get the full amount pledged(N8,000,000) but we were also assigned a security Hilux to escort us back to Jos. Say hello to my man of the year, say a big Gbosa to the People’s general. Thank you sir, thank you for this smile on Kim’s face…” On the other hand, Barr. Dalung in the spirit of the kind donation wrote on his official facebook page that ”Last week I shared the story of Kim on my page here and I explained this young-man’s travails as he and his friends struggled through storms of challenges to help one of their friend walk again. Kim was diagnosed with a condition termed as “spinal cord compression paraplegia secondary to spinal tumor.
This situation truncated his studies and restricted him to a wheelchair for a condition that can be corrected but due to lack of funds his treatment has been frustrated.
Kim needs 16m to walk again, friends of Kim had a conversation with me on this and I made a stop-by last week 31st March, 2017 to encourage them and share in their plight to help Kim walk again.
A call I made to a friend to help Kim walk again has fulfilled his side of the promise today, with a grateful heart Kim and his friends were with me in the office today 4th April, 2017 where the token of half the bill was handed over to them. I am still optimistic that this story will inspire more Nigerians to lend a helping hand to Kim and let see him walk again.
May the help and support we all give to make Kim walk again be a blessing to Nigeria and everyone. Amen.”
