News reaching ViewPointNigeria through the senior special assistant to the Governor of Sokoto state Mallam Imam Imam indicates that the Sokoto State Government’s Second Annual Retreat opened in Kuru, near Jos, with members of the State Executive Council, Permanent Secretaries and Directors-General gathering to brainstorm on way forward for the Seat of the Caliphate indicating that peace has returned to the Home of Peace and tourism.

Those who spoke at the opening ceremony include APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, Governors Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and Barr. Simon Bako Lalong, Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar and Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Buba Gyang.

Oyegun commended Tambuwal for his dedication to education, and especially girl-child education, and added, to the applause of all seated, that the party was happy with governance process in Sokoto State.
