Report reaching the ViewPointNigeria news desk indicates that at least three people were reportedly shot dead by members of the Special Task Force (STF) at Shishiri, Pajat Ward of Langtang North LGA of Plateau State following an uprising during the PDP councillorship primaries in the area.

It was alleged that a group of young men said to be drunk, attacked one of the officials conducting the primaries. Members of the STF were then said to have attempted rescue the official, but they were also attacked by the youth, prompting them to open fire, killing three and injuring scores.

Following the incident, the youths allegedly threw stones and missiles at the soldiers and they repelled them by firing shots. The incident was said to have resulted to pandemonium in the area as angry youths in protest blocked the highway and created mayhem.

At the time of filing this report, the STF Media Officer, Captain Salisu Mustapha, could not be reached for comments.
