The Judicial Commission of Inquiry probing the financial deals of the administration of Senator Jonah David Jang has been told that Sen. Jang, while in office cleverly took the decision of buying prime properties situated in various parts of Jos, for the state government. And that all such properties were handed over to the state government at the time of his leaving office.

Describing this clever investment, while under cross-examination from members of the judicial commission of Inquiry, Mr. James Giwa, the Permanent Secretary of Plateau State Ministry of Lands and Survey, in Memo No: JCI/107/2016, before the Commission, said the properties though acquired without the input of the ministry are all covered by Deeds of purchase.

He said the properties have been “surrendered to the state government and registered promptly”.

Although there was a discrepancy between the numbers of properties bought by Jang i.e., between the list which the commission had and the one with the ministry, Mr. Giwa clarified that the 17^th property is the former building that housed the defunct Nigerian Airways located at No.4 Bank Road Jos.

Investigation by reporters, show that among the 17 properties is a duplex which the former governor bought for the Plateau Radio Television Cooperation (PRTVC).
