Damishi Sango clinches PDP state Chairmanship in keenly contested race

Former Minister of sports and youth development Hon. Damishi T. Sango convincingly clinched the Plateau State PDP Chairmanship seat, in a keenly contest race with Hon Bitrus Kaze and Phillip Adik.

The election night which was long drawn and onerous, stretched into very early hours of the morning amidst very tight security and public interest.

Information shared with ViewPointNigeria from a source in Jos, leans to the fact that, Hon. Amos Gombi was elected PDP state deputy Chairman, while Hon. Damian Shekarau was elected state secretary, with Ahmed Haladu Zailani clinching the state Treasurership position.

Below are the official votes scored by the candidates during the PDP State congress held at Treasure Inn Hall along Jonah Jang Road Jos, Plateau State.

1. PDP state chairman: Hon. Damishi T. Sango – 758, Hon. Bitrus B. Kaze – 222,  Hon. Phillip Aduku – 0.

2. PDP deputy chairman: Hon Bitrus Golen – 207, Hon Amos Gombi – 427

3 State Secretary: Hon Emmanuel Tuang – 229, Hon Demian shekarau 403

4. Treasurer:  Alh Saidu Laka – 5, Hon Ahmed Haladu Zailani – 513

Among the special delegates were former Deputy Senator Alh. Ibrahim Nasiru Mantu, the former Governor of Plateau State His Excellency Da Sen. Dr. Jonah David Jang (Senator Representing Plateau Northern Zone at the NASS) and former FCT Minister Gen. Jeremiah T. Useini (Senator Representing Plateau Southern Senatorial Zone at the NASS).
