Unknown assailants have killed a tricycle rider in Rusau village in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state, Police have confirmed.

The deceased named Hudu Abdullahi was reported to have been missing since last Friday, however, his dead body was found at the Rusau village by a joint team of police and soldiers following a thorough search. The was later taken to the mortuary of the Plateau Specialist Hospital.

The Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Abu Emmanuel who confirmed the incident, said that the tricycle of the deceased was discovered in a family house at Rusau village where the incident occurred and the tricycle is currently at the Laranto Division of the police force.

He also disclosed that 5 suspects were arrested in connection with the incident.

He said, “The incident is true and full investigation into the matter has commenced.”

A family source revealed that Abdullahi who was 50 years old was survived by one wife, seven children and three inherited orphans.

The Plateau Jos north chapter of Ja’ma’atu Nasril Islam had following the incident appealed to Muslim youth to remain calm.

The JNI chairman, Hon. Dahiru Malimbo, made the appeal, saying, “There is no need for any reprisal as police is investigating the matter and the era of attacks and counter attacks is over. I call on all people in the state to leave in peace.”
