The trial of a former governor of Plateau State, Senator Joshua Dariye, will continue tomorrow before Justice Adebukola Banjoko at a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja.
Dariye has been standing trial since 2007 for various offences bordering on money laundering, abuse of office and corruption. He pleaded not guilty to the 23-count charge preferred against him.
EFCC allege that he committed offences when he was governor but could not be tried because of the constitutional immunity he had while in office.
Already, a number of prosecution witnesses have testified against him before Justice Adebukola Banjoko.
They include Musa Sunday, a detective with the EFCC who said Dariye jumped the administrative bail granted him by the UK Metropolitan Police after his arrest and detention.
He informed the court that the case was still pending in the UK. The investigating police officer (IPO), Detective Constable Peter Clark, will also be in Nigeria to testify against Dariye, Daily Trust gathered.
