Candidates of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Alice Dimlong and Gideon Dashe have won the rerun elections for Pankshin North and Pankshin South House of Assembly.

ViewPointNigeria reports that the Court of Appeal in Jos had ordered INEC to conduct fresh elections in Nyelleng polling unit of Fier ward in Pankshin North and Pyabor polling unit in Chip ward in Pankshin South to determine the winners.

At the by-election at Nyelleng polling unit which was held under tight security, Dimlong polled 17, 320 votes to beat her PDP opponent, Mr Diket Plang, who got 16, 817 votes.

The returning officer for Pankshin North constituency, Dr Jeff Godwin of the university of Jos, who announced the result at the council chamber, declared Dimlong as the winner of the by-election.

Our correspondent also reports that at the Pyabor polling unit in Chip ward, Dashe scored 9, 985 votes against incumbent lawmaker Istifanus Mwansat of the PDP who scored 9, 875 votes.

However, shortly before the results of Pyabor in Panskhin South was announced, some political thugs who disagreed with the location for the announcement of results caused commotion which was calmed through the intervention of  security agents and the State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Mr Godwin Kwanga.

The returning officer for Pankshin South, Dr Chris Vande of university of Jos declared Dashe winner of the by-election at Longkat in Chip electoral ward.
