Prayers said for Long Goemai as illness takes its toll

Reliable source in Jos, have disclosed to ViewPointNigeria, the unfortunate situation of the first-class traditional ruler of the Goemai kingdom of Plateau State, the Long-Goemai – he is said to be critically ill, requiring life support and enhancement.

HRH, Mishkoom Hubert Shalddas, one of the longest serving paramount rulers in Plateau State, is said to be battling a chronic kidney disease in Jos, which is said to have affected most of his body functions. Specifically, our correspondent was told that the royal father had been on dialysis and life support machine for the past one year.

HRH Miskhoom Shaldas is a retired captain of the Nigerian Army and is currently said to be 81 years old.

Several rumours about the demise of the Royal father surfaced in Jos earlier this week. Many claimed that he died on Monday night and was buried according to Goemai rites, but ViewPointNigeria has yet to ascertain these facts.

The traditional ruler ascended the throne in June 1988.
