A team of evaluators from the African Development Bank, ADB, has rated high the various intervention projects carried out by the Fadama II in Plateau State.

Leader of the delegation, Ly Boubakar made the rating at the weekend after evaluating some of the projects sites in Riyom and Jos South Local Government area of the state.

It would be recalled that all Fadama II programmes in the state which ended in 2013 were funded by the ADB.

According to Boubakar the team was in the state to ascertain the level at which these projects were sustained and maintain by the host communities and the local governments.

He also expressed satisfaction with the quality of most of the projects, as they were carried out within specifications.

‘’We have seen a lot of good things here and we are very satisfied with the way most of these projects are sited and executed.

‘’We have seen that alot of people are happy, which means they are really benefiting from these projects.

‘’We have also heard their concerns and some observations raised, I assure you that we will report back to the ADB board for appropriate actions,’’ he said.

The team leader commended the state and Local governments for prompt payment of its counterpart funding and support given for the execution of the projects.

He further applauded the effort of the Fadama II monitoring team in the state for monitoring the execution of all the projects from the start to completion.‬

The evaluation would be the precursor and determining factor for the proposed potato value chain project that would be funded by ADB and would be executed by Fadama II in Plateau.
