4 killed in attack on Kanke LGA – Plateau state

Information reaching the ViewPointNigeria news desks indicates that Kabwir village in Kange LGA was yesterday, Saturday, 25/5/2019, attacked by armed men suspected to be herdsmen, leading to the death of 4 people, with scores injured.

Speaking about the attack, a resident of the community told our reporter that the armed men arrived Kabwir junction at approximately 6:45pm when commercial activities were being rounded up and started shooting at people indiscrimately. 4 people were confirmed to have died from the attacks while many are still being sought after.

Among those who lost their lives is said to be the son of the late Nde Morris Danbaba (the past traditional ruler of Kabwir i.e, Ngolong Kabwir).

Also dead was one Sati Kopritda, who just concluded his final exams at University of Jos.

Several people have been reported missing in the incident, while several others are currently receiving medical attention.

This attack is coming on the same day of the killing of many in the Rikkos/Dutse Uku area of Jos where conflict about a recently discovered dead body and its burial sparked killings and counter killings between Muslim and Christian youths.

Several have been confirmed dead, including Mr Michael Chuwang – the President of the Christian Youth Organisation of Nigeria (CYON) of the St. Michael’s Parish Nasarawa Gwong. See tributes of his demise by well-wishers and friends from Facebook.
