Three persons have appeared before Magistrate Court in Jos for alleged offences of blackmail, defamation of character and threat to life to Hon. Tunde Oladapo, an ex-Senior Special Assistant on Community Relations and Yoruba Affairs to former Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau state.
The accused persons were Alhaji Abdulkadir Shittu, Hon. Tunde Amos and Mr. Isaac Olaloye.
In a court’s proceeding obtained journalist indicated that in a suit No. WMJ/60/2017 filed by the Plateau state Commissioner of Police against the accused persons and read by the Police Legal Prosecutor, Barr. Francis Gabriel told court that the accused have conspired to write a letter to the Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau state with the intention to blackmail, defame and threaten the life of Tunde Oladapo.
Oladapo is the Secretary General, Plateau State Chapter of League of Veteran Journalists who also doubles as President, Plateau state chapter of Omo-Oodua Yoruba Community.
During the court sitting presided by Chief Magistrate, J.K Binjin, the accused persons admitted writing the letter but denied offences that were charged of.
The Defense counsel, Barr. Sakiru Abdulazeez pleaded with the court to grant his clients bail in view with their character and social status in the state, pledging that they wouldn’t jump bail.
After listening to the Plaintiff and Defense counsel, the Chief Magistrate, J.K Binjin granted bail in the sum of N50, 000 each to the three accused persons and to provide one reasonable surety each in the like sum.

J.K Binjin adjourned the case to tomorrow for the continuation of hearing
