Nigeria Police force on Friday decorated 250 police officers and men in the Plateau state command. Those promoted ranged from constable to a Chief Superintendent of Police. Plateau state commissioner of Police, Chris Olakpe while speaking at the event called on those promoted to perform their duties in accordance with their new status.
He said “To whom much is given, much is expected; so you must act according to your new ranks. The promotion cuts across board, from the rank of Constable to CSP (Chief Superintendent of Police). We are thankful to the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, for this”. Olakpe added that promotion in every aspect of life was a reward for hard work and therefore called on those who were not part of the promotion to work hard and wait for their time.

The Plateau state Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), Felicia Anslem who got promoted from Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to Superintendent of Police (SP) said that she had expected the promotion for the past seven years. She said “My promotion to the rank of SP was long overdue. I have been waiting for this promotion for the past seven years. But thank God it eventually came. Today is my happiest day since I joined the Nigeria Police”.
The highest ranking officer to be promoted in the state was Elvis Amabeoku of the Crime department. He was promoted from Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP). Amabeoku said that he will use his new office to combat criminal activities in the state.
