The United Nations International Youth Day (IYD) 2025 is a global occasion dedicated to honoring the resilience, diversity, creativity, and strength of young people from all corners of the world, transcending boundaries of race, region, and religion. Celebrated on the 12th August annually, It is a day set aside not only to celebrate youth achievements but also to recognize their critical role in shaping the future of communities and nations.
The theme for this year’s International Youth Day, “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond,” emphasizes the essential contribution of young people in translating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into tangible, community-based realities. It acknowledges that youth are not just beneficiaries but active drivers of sustainable development, peace, and innovation at the grassroots level.
