2023 Elections Largely Peaceful compared to our earlier expectations as a result of BVAS

The 2023 General Elections has been described as largely people compared to the level of violence projected considering the heated nature of the campaigns across the country.

The was disclosed by Mr Paul-Gindiri Wudeama Gunen , a public affairs commentator when he made an appearance on 103.9 Politics, a program on KT FM 103.9 hosted by Blunt Morgan Tok.

Mr Wudeama stressed that compared to what many expected from the out come of the 2023 polls, the polls were largely peaceful and the kind of violence Nigerians anticipated to a large extent did not occur, owing to the introduction of the Biometric Voter Accreditation System (BVAS).

According to him, most politicians didn’t want their units canceled, hence were willing to follow the law to ensure that they won without disrupting the process. He noted however that what has come to replace ballot snatching and thuggery is propaganda.
