Former Governor of Plateau State and senator representing Plateau North in the National Assembly, Jonah David Jang, wednesday declared that there would be no imposition of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates during the 2019 general election and the forthcoming local government elections in the state.

He disclosed that imposition of candidates during the 2015 general election by the PDP contributed to the failure of the party to the election in the state, and promised that the party will not repeat the mistakes of the past.
Jang stated this at Langfield resort, Rayfield Jos during the reception of Ambassador Chris Giwa, who decamped from All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) to (PDP) with his supporters.

“There will be no imposition of candidates against the wish of the people, and we promise to conduct free and fair primaries where the people will choose their candidates,” Jang said.

He added that the PDP in the state was united and marching back to take over the Rayfield Government House from the ruling APC in 2019.

“I sympathise with all those decamping from PDP to APC in Plateau State because they will regret very soon.”
Meanwhile, the state Chairman of PDP, Mr. Damishi Sango, while receiving Giwa to the party, commended his courage, saying the party will continue to receive more new members.

Giwa said his decision to join the party was borne out the will of God for him, adding that he was going to give the needed support to see that Jang returns to the Senate, and to ensure that PDP wins back the state in 2019.
