As the gubernatorial race in Plateau continues to gather momentum, more candidates are said to be oiling their campaign machineries and building political structures to succeed the incumbent, Da. Jonah Jang.

One such individuals is Prof. Sunday Gwanle Tyoden –a former Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos. News about his candidature was broken to ViewPointNigeria’s correspondent by Prof. Tyoden’s key strategists (also a lecturer at the UniJos), who craved anonymity. He said, “I can authoritatively confirm to you that Prof. Sunny Tyoden will be vying for the seat of Governor come 2015 and would be given maximum support from the academic community”. He continued that “Plateau state needs a vibrant, educated and highly influential person to run its affairs and that Prof. Tyoden suited that need”.
