The Plateau State Working Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has asked the State Chairman of the party Dr. Haruna Dabin to resign his position and pursue his gubernatorial ambition.

Our correspondent also learnt from a source in the party Secretariat that, the State Working Committee walked out on the Chairman in a meeting held at the State party Secretariat in Jos on Tuesday.

The source said they were infuriated over the insistence of Dr. Dabin to preside over the meeting of the Working Committee.

Members of the Committee accused Dr. Dabin of high handedness.

In the words of the source, “A meeting of the Working Committee was summoned by the Chairman Dr. Haruna Dabin yesterday. But in the meeting, members challenged him over his intention to contest the 2015 general elections having declared his intention in the media.

“Members thereafter advised him to resigned based on the fact that he cannot remain as chairman of the party and as a governorship aspirant at the same time. And when he insisted, members walked out on him for lack of confidence in his leadership of the party.

ViewPointNigeria further gathered that the move to walk out on him unsettled the Chairman, as he made effort to deny informing the State Governor of his political ambition.

The Committee members left the party Secretariat with a vow to reconvene soon to commence a process of replacing the Chairman, if he fails to submit his resignation letter before then.
