A chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and House of Representatives aspirant for Jos South\Jos East Constituency in last December’s primary election, Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos has advised aspirants who lost in all the primary elections not to leave the party but to accept that only one person could hold a particular office at any given time and stay to help build the party and the State towards
the general elections.
Bagos in a chat with journalists in Jos, Thursday, said he had put his own loss behind him to work for the success of PDP in all elections, urging other aspirants, particularly those who contested for the gubernatorial ticket of the party, to be like sportsmen and work for the success of the PDP in spite of failure to achieve their respective personal aspirations.
He added, “The candidature of Senator Gyang Pwajok to us Youths in the State is a divine arrangement because since 1999, there has never been any candidate who has gained the support of all the tribes, both Christians and Muslims, Youths and women like Senator Pwajok.
Speaking specifically on allegations by some of the governorship aspirants who lost the ticket, Bagos said, “What we should be looking at is the unity and progress of Plateau State. We don’t need any division, we don’t need any distraction. We should remain where we are to put our hands together so that together, we can be greater. We should come together to see about moving our party and our state
forward.
He maintained that, it is a person’s credibility and record of achievement in public office, rather than where the person comes from, that should count.
On the Presidential elections, billed for February 14, 2015, Bagos caution politicians not take it as a do or die affair, saying President Goodluck Jonathan belongs to the younger generation.
He called on Nigerians to give Jonathan another chance, while advising Gen. Muhammadu Buhari to be an advisory elder to Jonathan, and not seeking for electoral position.
“Buhari is an Elder statesman who is desperate to rule the country, so the electorate should beware and vote wisely”.
