The Honourable member representing Kanke, Kanam and Pankshin Federal Constituency of Plateau State, Honourable Emmanuel Goa’r has declared his intention to contest senate election the senate in 2015, saying he was ready to recapture the senatorial seat of Plateau Central Senatorial zone from Senator Joshua Dariye of the Labour Party.

Speaking with journalists in Jos, the PDP lawmaker said the party could not afford to allow opposition party to win the senatorial seat, considering the political influence and popularity of the PDP in the state and in the nation.

“PDP is the dominant party in Plateau State, Plateau is one of the few states in the federation which opposition parties struggled to penetrate, however, since the former deputy senate president Mr. Nasir Mantu lost the election to Sen. Sati Gogwim, it has been difficult for the PDP to regain the seat, so I am set to brake the jinx.

“When you talk of Plateau, you can only talk of one political party which is PDP, the other opposition parties an literarily non existent, Plateau is PDP and PDP is Plateau. That is why those who left the party are making moves to come back because they know there is no way they can win election on the platform of another party other than PDP. But I am set to brake the jinx of incursion of opposition party in Plateau Central senatorial zone,” he said.

Honourable Goa’r who said he was the most qualified to wrestle the seat from the incumbent Senator Joshua Dariye who won the election on the platform of Labour Party in the 2011 election.
