The battle for the governorship of Plateau State as the 2015 polls draws near has continued, as a retired Commissioner of Police, Hezekiah Dimka has declared his interest to contest for the number one seat in the State.

Dimka said, his reason for contesting is borne out of his conviction that the successor of the outgoing Governor of the State, Jonah Jang, should not only “consolidate on his achievements, but pursue the redemption dream by further deepening it.

 

The battle for the 2015 governorship seat in Plateau State has continued, with a retired Commissioner of Police, Nde Hezekiah Dimka declaring his interest to contest for plum position.

Dimka said, his reason for contesting is borne out of his conviction that the successor of the outgoing Governor of the State, Jonah Jang, should not only “consolidate on his achievements, but pursue the redemption dream by further deepening it.

He stated this at the Ngolong Ngas Palace in Pankshin, when he paid a courtesy call on the paramount ruler, so as to receive royal blessings.

“I believe that given my many years of service as a police officer, with vast experience in quelling many violent uprisings and management of of peace and security in some of Nigeria’s most turbulent States, I have a duty to serve Plateau State.

The former Police Chief and a PDP Chieftain, added that, “It is for this reason I adopted the motto, Peace and Consolidation as my campaign slogan.

He maintained that, his mission is, “The transfornation of Plateau State into a cradle of physical beauty, peaceful and qualitative human existence and a bastion of creativity and enterprise taking advantage of the State’s clement weather, hospitable and cosmopolitan people and its sheer physical beauty.

Dimka stressed that, his mission in the State is to harness its vast human and natural resources to achieve the objective of lifting it to the height of “peaceful co-existence, ethno-religious prosperity and political pre-eminence within the middle belt and the federation.
