2 Years in Office- Managing Diversity a Critical Challenge- Hon. Bagos

The Member Representing Jos South/ Jos East in the National Assembly, Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos who’s also the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Anti-Corruption has said that one of the major challenges he had faced in the last two years in office was trying to meander through and manage the diversities that exists within his constituency.

The Member who was a guest on a live- phone-in- program on Jay 101.9 FM political show on Friday, 11th June, 2021 said he was doing his best in managing the cosmopolitan nature of the constituency. He emphasized that people of all ethnic groups, religion, creed and affiliations existed and as such, appeasing everyone was a huge challenge.

The Member also reiterated the fact that the 9th Assembly has been proactive in trying to pass bills that have been impactful to the growth and development of the nation.

He however was not pleased about the implementation of resolutions and bills sent to the Executive for assent or implementation.

He said “if the Executive had implemented only 30% of what we sent to them in the last two years, we would not be here at the moment”.

Bagos said such a move has created a negative perception of the 9th Assembly as being mere “Rubber Stamps” which he said was far from the truth.

He however said the Green Chamber was a United irrespective of political, ethnic and religious beliefs and backgrounds in making Nigeria a greater nation to live in.

He said the expectation as a result of the insecurity and the economic situation in the nation has placed on their shoulders a more difficult and tasking responsibility.

He enjoined all Nigeians to support them in every way possible so that they are able to serve the nation better in the next two years to come.
