The Plateau state police command has dismissed a corporal attached to the Special Task Force (STF) on Jos crisis for allegedly raping a four year old girl in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

State police commissioner, Chris Olakpe told journalists on Tuesday at the force headquarters in Jos that Corporal Damudu Bzibu was dismissed on the orders of the Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Abubakar.

State police commissioner, Chris Olakpe told journalists on Tuesday at the force headquarters in Jos that Corporal Damudu Bzibu was dismissed on the orders of the Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Abubakar.

He said “The police officer was dismissed on the orders of the Inspector General of Police. Until his dismissal, he was on special duty with the Special Task Force on Jos crisis, STF. He would be charged to court for the Law to take its course”.

In a related development, a women group known as Excellent Capacity Builders Initiative (ECBI) has strongly condemned the rape of the minor by the said policeman attached to the Special Task Force (STF). This was contained in a press statement jointly signed by the group’s President and PRO, Judith Ogedengbe and Gloria Emmanuel respectively.

It will be recalled that ViewPointNigeria earlier reported of a police corporal attached to the STF who raped a four year old girl in Barkin Ladi LGA and was subsequently arrested.
