The election process appears to be showing a lot of challenges -as several high profile Nigerian were said to be unable to vote. In Otueke (the home aread of the President), the President’s PVC was said to have been rejected by the card reading machine. The same was the fate of his wife – Dame Patience Jonathan, who also experienced problems with her card reader.
Additionally, reports reaching us suggests that the Southern part of the Country, except the Southwest has been plagued severe challenges. For instance -only approx. 50% of polling units were open in the South East and South South areas as at 11:00am this morning. Only the South West has a high percentage of 88%.
In the North, the story was different – most of the high profile individuals were able to get accreditation without problems. For instance, Buhari finalised his accreditation by 9:00 this morning. Atiku Abubakar and several other big weights of the APC seem to be having a smooth sail with the accreditation process.
Also, in the North, the accreditation process across polling units was high -with most of the polling units opened by 11:30 am (up to 70%). This difference in fortune could significantly lead to disagreements if care is not taken.
