With less than six weeks to the gubernatorial elections, the Labour Party, LP, governorship candidate in Plateau State, Amb. Bagudu Hirse has described as criminal; the rumours making rounds in the state that he was being sponsored by the PDP led administration.

Crying foul over what he refers to as “blackmail”, he challenged the Governor, Jonah Jang or any other person to prove the allegations that he was being sponsored.

Hirse who spoke during a live radio programme, “democracy today ” on the Plateau Radio Television Corporation in Jos, added that this campaign of calumny would never derail him from his set goals which among others, is to put Plateau first.

He said his government will set free, the State which has been under bondage for long.

The former Minister for State Foreign Affairs added that, he has a seven point agenda which he hope to pursue vigorously, adding that his administration would be an all encompassing government that will make room for equal participation.

He used the opportunity to appeal to his opponents to excise restraints and conduct themselves as advocates of peace for the period of the polls.

Meanwhile, security personnel have been urged to be committed to duty during and after the election.

Hirse gave the charge while addressing a stakeholders meeting organized for INEC officials, traditional leaders, politicians and party supporters on the way forward to a peaceful and accepted polls.

According to him, democracy has come to stay and as such, the security agencies must rise to the occasion and ‎defend democracy at all costs and pledged to partner security agencies to safeguard the system.
