Amidst the eating, drinking and the merry of the Christmas season, amidst the sounds of “Jingle Bells” and the rhythms of “we wish you a merry Christmas”, amidst the fight for political office and the governorship race and so on – several questions remain pertinent in our minds – Who remembers the numerous lives ruined by the perpetual attacks on the Plateau? Who remembers our dead brothers and sisters? Who remembers the plight of the widows left behind in Shonong? Who remembers Dogon Na Hauwa? Who remembers the cries of the fatherless children in Bachit, Attakar, Shen, Rim, Kuru, Shonong, Maguno, Kurra falls, Heipang, Tanchol, Maza, Wase etc? Who remembers the orphans who would experience their first Christmas with not and mums
Amidst the eating, drinking and the merry of the Christmas season. Amidst the sounds of “Jingle Bells…Jingle Bells” and the rhythms of “we wish you a merry Christmas“, amidst the fight for political office and the governorship race and so on – several questions remain pertinent in our minds – Who remembers the numerous lives ruined by the perpetual attacks on the Plateau? Who remembers the dead? Who remembers the plight of the widows left behind in Shonong? Who remembers Dogon Na Hauwa? Who remembers the cries of the fatherless children in Bachit, Attakar, Shen, Rim, Kuru, Shonong, Maguno, Kurra falls, Heipang, Tanchol, Maza, Wase etc? Who remembers the orphans who would experience their first Christmas without their fathers and mothers?
To the our leaders and Government, we ask – Do you know how many people were killed in the numerous attacks this year?
Do we even know their names or are they just mere statistic now? Do we know the number of those they have left behind?
Do we know their plight? How are they faring? Are they doing well? Are they suffering?
Have we simply been overtaken by campaigning for political office and the Christmas season that we have turned a blind eye to what really matters?
Have a great boxing day celebration – ViewPointNigeria
