The former Governor of Plateau State and a member of the just concluded National Conference, Amb. Fidelis Tapgun, has officially declared his intension to contest the 2015 governorship election of the State.
Tapgun who was the Director General of former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s re-election in 2003 said, “Both the Central and Northern zones have had their turns as governors of Plateau State since 1999, so its the turn of the Southern zone.
The for Ambasador of Nigeria to Kenya added that, “In the spirit of fair play, the Southern Zone should be given the opportunity to produce the next Governor of the State.

He disclosed this in Jos, while inaugurating his campaign team to run for governorship of the State.
He said, “It is God that gives leadership, its not gotten by force. If its not God’s will for me to become governor, I cannot force myself on the people.
“Some people say I’m not a member of PDP, but the truth is I’m a full member, some of us were rebelious because of the way party issues were handled then.
“PDP started from my house, its constitution was derived from that of SDP, its the party of the citizenry.
“PDP does not support imposition of candidates, so we will continue to fight such”
